We are thinking of skipping the excursion package and just cabbing it to and from the ruins to our hotel.

If memory serves they were asking 500 600 pesos so usd 40 50. Was there a few days ago and paid with a visa credit card. A basic half day tour cost about 39 usd and that includes hotel pick up and drop off entrance fee to the ruins and tour guide. Not sure if children s admissions were less.

So basically for two people with a tour it will cost about 80 usd compared to doing it yourself for about 25 usd for two people. If my family took a cab directly to the tulum ruins does any one now how much it the entrance fee is. Keep in mind that the entrance fee has gone up with demand in recent years so bring a few extra pesos just in case. The guides are there outside the ruins as you stand in line to buy your entrance tickets.

Can also confirm the evening hours are until 18 30 but the tram stops running after 17 00 so it s a little more walking and 3 times the price at 220 pesos. We saw people negotiating rates and also getting others in line to go in with them on a guide.
